Ciorba Group is providing design and construction engineering services to the City of Waukegan for emergency repairs after the collapse of a 114 year old culvert carrying the Waukegan River under Washington Street.  Washington Street, a main thoroughfare through the City, quickly failed over the culvert, creating a large crater in the pavement. The street will be closed to all traffic while the repairs are in The culvert, which was built in 1904, is a 10’ diameter arch made of hand placed limestone blocks and is 40 feet below Washington Street.
