Jeffery Avenue Bridge over Buffalo Creek

Ciorba Group was selected by the Village of Wheeling to provide final design and construction engineering services for the replacement of a concrete deck beam bridge over Buffalo Creek. The project is federally funded through the STP-Bridge Program. The proposed bridge is located in a very constrained area with residential properties at all four corners of the bridge including driveways which run onto the bridge approach slab in two of the four corners. The replacement bridge is an 18” deep reinforced concrete slab bridge on abutments supported on 30” diameter belled caissons and required the design of a special railing to limit conflicts with the driveways
