Green infrastructure can provide detention capacity for smaller storm events as well as improved water quality, increased groundwater recharge, reduction of the urban heat island, improved air quality, improved habitat, and numerous improvements to community livability. Green infrastructure is also increasingly being required through the permitting processes of many regulatory agencies.
