Ciorba Group performed preliminary, final design, and construction engineering for this federally funded (STP-BR) project for Crete Township, in Will County, IL, in collaboration with the Will County Division of Transportation. The roadway profile was raised to improve water flow at the bridge opening. This required reconstructing over 1,000’ of roadway, compensatory storage, and right of way acquisition. The roadway cross-section was widened to accommodate 22’ of pavement and 4’ aggregate shoulders. The new bridge is a single span, reinforced concrete slab bridge on integral abutments supported on metal shell piles. Construction began in May and was completed on schedule. Great Job Team!
