Brookfield Avenue Bridge over Salt Creek is Complete
Ciorba is excited to share that the Brookfield Avenue Bridge is open! The original bridge was built in October 1916, and in 2014 the Village Board approved to begin development on preliminary engineering plans. The Ribbon Ceremony was held December 9, 2022. The new bridge features total replacement including a precast prestressed concrete, I beam superstructure and the reconstruction of adjacent HMA pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalk, and underground utilities. The new bridge also features decorative lighting columns, a beautiful look out over Salt Creek, and a widened pedestrian walking path. Ciorba Group provided preliminary, final design and construction engineering services. Great job team!
