I-64 Ramps from 2nd Street to Collinsville Ave

Ciorba Group assisted the general contractor Keeley and Sons in preparing erection plans for the I-64 from 2nd Street to Collinsville Avenue in East Saint Louis. The bridges consist of five ramps with horizontally curved steel plate girders with a web depth of 80 inches and short radii. Mr. Durbak analyzed the ramp framing at the different stages of the erection using Finite Element Models and 2-D grid analysis in LARSA. The stability of the different ramps was assessed under wind and other construction loads. Mr. Durbak designed details for clamps and tie-downs for the contractor use during erection and he also prepared the required reports for submittal to the Illinois DOT construction group for approval.
