Major Bridge Inspections

Ciorba Group performed in-depth NBIS bridge inspection in District Nine of four major bridges. The bridges in this inspection program included I-57 over the Mississippi River: a 4,000-foot long bridge with a three-span arch truss bridge, the I-270 Chain of Rocks Bridge over the Mississippi River in District Eight: a 5,411-foot long plate girder bridge, the IL 104 Meredosia Bridge over the Illinois River in District Six: a 2,232-foot long bridge with a thru truss bridge main span and the I-74 Murray Baker Bridge over the Illinois River in District Four: a 3,217-foot long bridge with a five-span cantilevered Warren thru truss. All members were inspected hands-on using special equipment and non-destructive inspection techniques, such as ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, and dye-penetrants
