Touhy Avenue Water Main Replacement

Ciorba Group provided construction engineering services to the Village of Niles for the rehabilitation of two separate sections of Lewis Avenue. Total project length was 1.2 miles with one section in North Chicago and the other in Waukegan. The work involved bituminous surface removal; pavement patching; removal and replacement of damaged curb and gutter; sidewalk removal and replacement of at all intersections for construction of ADA ramps; storm sewer installation; adjustment and repair of drainage and public utility structures; placement of bituminous leveling binder, binder and surface courses; pavement markings application and restoration. An existing deteriorated pedestrian bridge over Lewis Avenue was removed as part of the project.
