Ciorba Group has planned, designed and provided construction observation for roadway lighting improvements along expressways and arterial, collector, and local streets. Projects have also included decorative lighting for streetscaping and area lighting for parking lots. The Ciorba team can initially assist the client in equipment selection and evaluation; identifying the preferred lamp color temperature, assessing a fixture’s energy efficiency and listing future maintenance considerations. During design, a photometric analysis will determine proper illumination, taking into account glare reduction and light trespass. All improvements are designed to meet the Illuminating Engineering Society’s procedures and all other federal, state and local governmental agency requirements.
Ciorba has assisted communities in developing asset management programs for their lighting systems, developing procedures for the inspection and maintenance of existing equipment. Part of these programs includes assisting the client in selecting standardized fixtures and poles with a suggested on-hand inventory level for the lighting equipment. Pole and fixture information can also be added to a community’s existing GIS database. The collected data can also be used to develop a capital improvement program for the lighting system.
